YUHANNA’NIN VİZYONU (JOHN’S VISION)
YUHANNA’NIN VİZYONU (JOHN’S VISION). İncil’de çok ilginçtir Yuhanna’nın vizyonu! Bir “ateş adam” gördü, şöyle anlattı onu: “Ağzında kılıç vardı!” “Kılıcın yarık ucu!” “Yedi tane yıldızı tutardı sağ avucu!” “Fırından yeni çıkmış tunç gibi bacakları!” “Gözleri alev alev, görünürdü akları!”
KIYAMETNAME KİTABI

YUHANNA’NIN VİZYONU
İncil’de çok ilginçtir Yuhanna’nın vizyonu!
Bir “ateş adam” gördü, şöyle anlattı onu:
“Ağzında kılıç vardı!” “Kılıcın yarık ucu!”
“Yedi tane yıldızı tutardı sağ avucu!”
“Fırından yeni çıkmış tunç gibi bacakları!”
“Gözleri alev alev, görünürdü akları!”
“Giysisi şeffaf beyaz, saçları saf yün gibi!”
“Belinde, güneş gibi, altın kuşak sahibi!”
“Görünce, ölü gibi ayağına kapandım!”
“Secde” idi; gördüğüm RABB’ime çünkü andım!
“Elini omuzuma koyup şunu söyledi:
‘Korkma! Ben ilk ve sonum, ezelî ve ebedî!’
‘Hem özün, hem özünü doğurtacak ebenim!
Fethet beni, “ebedî hayât ağacı” ben’im!’
‘Açtım mı kapıyı ben, hiç kimse kapayamaz!
Kapadım mı, açamaz! “Ben kapıyım”, bilen az!’
‘Yaratımın olmazsa olmaz olan şartıyım!
Bölünemez noktayım; ne eksi, ne artıyım!’
‘Amin ben’im! Bil, bana evet demektir “Amin”!
‘Ben de oturtacağım “Fâtihim”i tahtıma!
Bende sadığım çünkü ona olan ahtıma!
‘Giyerek beyaz giysi, pırıl pırıl ve şeffaf,
Sürçüp yoğunlaşması kulun da olacak af!
‘Beyaz taş, yani Îsâ; yeni ismi yazılı!
Karartmamak “yemini”, taş üstünde kazılı!
‘ALLAH insanı yalnız yeni ismiyle bilir;
Özüm ona bu adla şefaat edebilir!
‘Levh-i Mahfuz’daki ad: Süleyman! Yeni ismi!
“Orta direk olmuştur, HAK çadırında cismi!”
Yuhanna’nın izniyle fakir açsın bu sözü:
Orta direk, “and”ını tutup açandır gözü!
“Âdem’e secde” için kılar “Cuma” namazı;
Rûh üflendiği gün o, bilir halkın pek azı!
İki namaz ortası onun rekât adedi;
HAK: “Cumayı kaçırma!”, “Orta ümmet ol!” dedi!
Yuhanna’ya burada sözü bırakıyorum;
“Tırnaksız olanları” yine de benden yorum!
“ALLAH’ın yanından o bir daha ayrılamaz;
Gölgesiydi ayrılan zaten, bunu bilen az!
‘Yeni ismini sâde onun kendisi bilir;
Beni o isim ile ancak çağırabilir!
‘Melekler ile İblis “isim” ile sınandı!’
Hiçbiri bilemedi, unutmuşlardı andı!
Şey yoktu ki melekler bilsin şeyin ismini;
Her şey öz idi orda, giymemişti cismini!
ALLAH’ı biliyordu, bilmiyordu kendini;
“Üflenen rûh”u bulup üflemek “fıtrat dini!”
Her şeye “öz ismi”yle rûh üflenmiştir mâdem,
Aziz Yahya “duygusal” yorumladı vizyonu;
“ZÜLFİKÂR”ı görmüşken Îsâ zannetti onu!

DİNLER TARİHİ VE EVRENSEL EZOTERİK GELENEKLER IŞIĞINDA KARŞILAŞTIRMALI TEFSİR
BİRİNCİ KISIM — EVRENSEL VAHİY, KOZMİK İNSAN VE İLÂHÎ TECELLİ
1. Yuhanna’nın Vizyonunun Evrensel Ezoterik Anlamı
Yuhanna’nın vizyonu, ilâhî hakikatin insan bilincinde sembolik bir sûret kazanmasını anlatan kozmik bir tecelli metnidir. Ateşten insan, yedi yıldız, iki uçlu kılıç, altın kuşak ve beyaz giysi, farklı dinî geleneklerde karşılıkları bulunan arketipsel semboller olarak yorumlanabilir. Hristiyanlıkta Vahiy kitabının görkemli insan sûreti, Yahudi mistisizminde semavî insan tasavvuru, İslâm tasavvufunda İnsan-ı Kâmil, Hinduizm'de Puruşa, Zerdüştî gelenekte ilâhî ışık ve Budist düşüncede aydınlanmış bilincin sembolik tasvirleri, farklı öğretiler içerisinde benzer metafizik sorulara yönelir.
Bu geleneklerin tamamı aynı varlık öğretisini savunmaz. Bununla birlikte görünür insan ile aşkın hakikat arasındaki ilişkinin nasıl kurulacağı, dinler tarihinin ortak meselelerinden biridir. Yuhanna’nın vizyonunda görülen insan biçimi, bu ilişkinin sembolik merkezidir. Kozmik hakikat, insanın anlayabileceği bir görünüm kazanırken kendi aşkınlığını bütünüyle kaybetmez.
Metnin özgün yönü, Yuhanna’nın gördüğü sûreti yalnızca Hristiyan apokaliptik geleneği içerisinde bırakmaması, onu İslâmî isimler, kozmik ateş, Zülfikâr, Âdem, Süleyman ve Zühre sembolleriyle yeniden yorumlamasıdır. Böylece vizyon, farklı dinlerin kavramlarının tek bir sembolik anlatım içerisinde buluştuğu ezoterik bir metne dönüşür.
2. Hristiyanlıkta Vahiy ve İlâhî İnsan
Hristiyanlığın Vahiy geleneğinde Yuhanna’nın gördüğü görkemli sûret, dirilmiş Mesih'in aşkın hâkimiyetiyle ilişkilendirilir.
Şiirde İblis'in isim karşısındaki yetersizliği, varlığın özünü tanıyamayan benliğin sembolüdür. Böylece İblis, yalnızca dışsal bir karşıtlık figürü değil, bilincin kendi ölçülerini mutlaklaştırması sonucunda meydana gelen mânevî yabancılaşmanın da işareti hâline gelir.
27. Secde ve Kutsal Karşısında Benliğin Dönüşümü
Secde, İslâm'da Allah'a kulluğun temel ibadet biçimlerinden biridir.
39. İlâhî Yakınlık ve Birlik Bilinci
İslâm tasavvufunda kurb, Allah'a mânevî yakınlığı ifade eder.

JOHN’S VISION
John’s vision in the Gospel is most extraordinary!
He beheld a “Man of Fire” and described Him thus:
“A sword was in His mouth, its blade divided at the tip!
Seven stars were held within the palm of His right hand!”
“His legs were like bronze, newly drawn from the furnace!
His eyes blazed with fire, their very whites aflame!”
“His garment was translucent white, His hair like pure wool!
Around His waist He wore a golden girdle, radiant as the sun!”
“When I beheld Him, I fell at His feet as though dead!
It was prostration, for I recognized the LORD whom I had seen!”
“He placed His hand upon my shoulder and spoke these words:
‘Fear not! I am the First and the Last, the Beginningless and the Everlasting!’
‘I am both your Essence and the midwife who shall bring your Essence to birth!
Conquer Me, for I am the Tree of Everlasting Life!’
‘When I open the Door, none can ever close it!
When I close it, none can open it! I am the Door, though few know this!’
‘I am the indispensable condition of Creation!
I am the Indivisible Point, neither minus nor plus!’
‘I am Amen! Know that Amen signifies saying Yes to Me!
You beheld Me and, with certainty, declared: You are my LORD!’
‘This is the true meaning of reciting the Fâtiha!
Only the one who accomplishes this shall be called the Conqueror!’
‘Know that I, too, am a Conqueror, for I have conquered the Essence of Haqq (Lord)!
I opened My eyes when I was seated upon My Throne!’
‘I shall also seat My Conqueror upon My Throne!
For I remain faithful to the Covenant I made with him!’
‘Clothed in a white garment, luminous and transparent,
The servant shall also be forgiven for stumbling into densification!’
‘The White Stone is Îsâ, bearing the New Name inscribed upon it!
The Oath engraved upon the Stone must never be darkened!’
‘Allah knows the human being only by his New Name!
My Essence can intercede for him through that Name!’
‘The Name in the Preserved Tablet is Solomon! His New Name!
His being has become the Central Pillar within the Tent of Haqq (Lord)!’
With John’s permission, let this humble servant unfold these words:
The Central Pillar is the one who keeps his Oath and opens his eyes!
He performs the Friday Prayer in reverence before Adam;
It is the day the Spirit was breathed into him, though few among humanity know it!
The number of his prayer cycles lies between the two prayers;
Haqq (Lord) declared: “Do not miss Friday! Become the Community of the Middle Way!”
Here I return the word to John;
Yet the passages without quotation marks remain my own interpretation!
“He shall never again depart from the Presence of Allah;
For what departed was only his shadow, though few comprehend this!
‘Only he himself shall know his New Name;
And only by that Name shall he be able to call upon Me!
‘The Angels and Iblis were tested through the Name!’
None could know it, for they had forgotten their Oath!
There was no manifested thing whose name the Angels could know;
Everything existed there as Essence, not yet clothed in bodily form!
He knew Allah, yet did not know himself;
To discover the Breathed Spirit and breathe it forth is the Religion of Fitrah!
Since the Spirit has been breathed into all things through their Essential Names,
ADAM must be the Name of the LORD of all Worlds!
‘The Name is not a word; it is Fire, a Ray of Light!
All rays proceed from Me; therefore My Name is Shın!
‘Seven Armies of Fire, seven stars, are within My hand!
Keep your Word, and I shall fasten the Golden Girdle around your waist!
‘Then your Name shall become Zühre, the Morning Star!
Aphrodite and Joseph, too, were none other than you! Do you understand?’
Saint John interpreted his vision through emotion;
Though he had beheld ZULFIQAR, he believed it to be Îsâ!

COMPARATIVE ESOTERIC EXEGESIS IN THE LIGHT OF THE HISTORY OF RELIGIONS AND UNIVERSAL ESOTERIC TRADITIONS
PART ONE — UNIVERSAL REVELATION, THE COSMIC HUMAN, AND DIVINE MANIFESTATION
1. The Universal Esoteric Meaning of John’s Vision
John’s vision is a text of cosmic theophany describing how Divine Truth assumes a symbolic form within human consciousness. The Man of Fire, the seven stars, the two-edged sword, the golden girdle, and the white garment may be interpreted as archetypal symbols possessing correspondences across different religious traditions. The majestic human figure in the Christian Book of Revelation, the conception of the Celestial Human in Jewish mysticism, the Perfect Human (al-Insān al-Kāmil) in Islamic Sufism, Purusha in Hinduism, Divine Light in the Zoroastrian tradition, and symbolic representations of enlightened consciousness in Buddhist thought all address similar metaphysical questions within their respective teachings.
These traditions do not all uphold an identical doctrine of existence. Nevertheless, the relationship between the visible human being and transcendent reality constitutes one of the shared concerns of the history of religions. The human form appearing in John’s vision becomes the symbolic center of this relationship. Cosmic Truth assumes a manifestation comprehensible to humanity without entirely surrendering its transcendence.
The distinctive character of the text lies in its refusal to confine the figure witnessed by John exclusively to the Christian apocalyptic tradition. Instead, it reinterprets that figure through Islamic Divine Names and the symbols of Cosmic Fire, Zulfiqar, Adam, Solomon, and Zühre. Thus, the vision becomes an esoteric text in which concepts belonging to different religions converge within a single symbolic narrative.
2. Revelation and the Divine Human in Christianity
Within the Christian tradition of Revelation, the majestic figure witnessed by John is associated with the transcendent sovereignty of the resurrected Messiah. The comparison of His eyes to fire, His feet to refined metal, and His face to the sun constitutes a symbolic language expressing Divine Authority rather than a physical description of an ordinary human body. In this representation, the human form becomes the visible sign of Celestial Truth.
John’s falling to the ground expresses the profound upheaval experienced by limited human consciousness before the Sacred. The subsequent command not to fear reveals that Divine Manifestation carries not only majesty but also intimacy and reassurance. Esoterically, these two stages signify that consciousness first recognizes its own limitations and subsequently becomes capable of establishing a relationship with a higher Truth.
The Man of Fire in the text may be understood at the intersection of Light, Logos, and Resurrection within Christian mysticism. Nevertheless, the poem’s final association with Zulfiqar is not a direct explanation of the canonical account of Revelation but a distinctive comparative exegesis belonging to the text itself.
3. The Perfect Human in Islamic Sufism
The Perfect Human, or al-Insān al-Kāmil, signifies the human being who recognizes the spiritual meanings of the Divine Names within his own existence and actualizes them through moral perfection. In the teachings of Ibn al-Arabi and subsequent Sufi traditions, this concept serves to explain humanity’s distinctive position within the order of Creation. The human being is not an object physically containing every level of existence; rather, human consciousness possesses the capacity to comprehend the meanings of diverse Divine Names.
Within this framework, the Man of Fire appearing in John’s vision may be compared with the symbol of the Cosmic Human. The seven stars represent the multiplicity of existence; the golden girdle signifies the unification of this multiplicity around a central Truth; and the sword emerging from the mouth represents the discerning power of the Divine Word.
The conquest of the Essence of Haqq (Lord) described in the text may be understood, from a Sufi perspective, not as the appropriation of Truth by the human being but as purification from the veils of the ego that conceal Truth. Conquest thereby becomes a concept associated with the transformation of the lower self and the unveiling of Gnosis.
4. Adam Kadmon in Jewish Mysticism
Adam Kadmon in the Kabbalistic tradition is a metaphysical symbol more comprehensive than a mere celestial counterpart of the ordinary human being. Particularly within Lurianic Kabbalah, Adam Kadmon is associated with the earliest integral configurations of the order of Divine Emanation. His representation in human form does not imply that Divine Reality possesses a biological body. Rather, the organs of the human body constitute a symbolic language explaining different relationships of manifestation.
The eyes, mouth, hands, and feet appearing in John’s vision likewise offer the possibility of a symbolic interpretation. The eyes signify perception, the mouth signifies the Word, the hands signify power, and the feet represent the extension of Divine Manifestation into the lower planes of existence.
The comparison between Adam Kadmon and the Man of Fire rests upon their shared employment of the human form to explain the Cosmic Order. Nevertheless, the technical meaning of Adam Kadmon within Kabbalah differs from the representation of the Messiah in the Book of Revelation. Esoteric exegesis investigates their symbolic similarities while preserving this distinction.
5. Purusha and the Cosmic Body in Hinduism
In the Purusha Hymn of the Rigveda, the Cosmic Being emerges as an integral symbol explaining the order of the universe. The different domains of the cosmos are described through the body of this Great Being. The head, feet, eyes, and other organs represent levels of Creation that are distinct from one another yet united within a common totality.
The Man of Fire witnessed by John is likewise a representation in which the human form possesses cosmic significance. Nevertheless, the account of cosmic sacrifice and Creation in the Purusha Hymn and John’s apocalyptic vision belong to different religious contexts.
The fundamental point of comparison is the transformation of the human form into a symbolic map through which the universe may be understood. Within this map, the human being is not merely a small living organism but a meaningful model through which the order of existence may be comprehended.
6. Divine Light and Fire in the Zoroastrian Tradition
In Zoroastrianism, fire is closely associated with Sacred Order, Truth, and Purification. Its importance does not arise from the identification of material flame with God, but from its function as a powerful symbol rendering Truth and Purity visible. The concept of Asha constitutes one of the fundamental principles of Truth and Cosmic Order.
The flaming eyes and the Man of Fire in John’s vision may be compared with this symbolism of Light. In both traditions, fire functions as a sign revealing Truth in the presence of darkness.
The seven Armies of Fire appearing in the text may also be symbolically compared with the seven Amesha Spentas of the Zoroastrian tradition. Nevertheless, the Amesha Spentas are not historically identical to the Armies of Fire in the poem. Their common feature lies in the explanation of Cosmic Order through different spiritual qualities.
7. Luminous Consciousness and Enlightenment in Buddhism
In Buddhist traditions, Light may be associated with the transcendence of ignorance and the direct realization of Truth. Particularly within Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, representations of Luminosity, Wisdom, and Transformed Consciousness occupy an important place.
When the flaming eyes in John’s vision are compared with the Eye of Wisdom in Buddhist symbolism, their shared theme is a form of perception capable of comprehending what lies beyond appearances. Nevertheless, the Buddhist doctrine of anatta questions the conception of a permanent and independent self. Consequently, Buddhist Enlightenment and the Divine Essence described in the text cannot be reduced to an identical ontological doctrine.
What matters in comparative esoteric interpretation is the transformation of conventional self-perception in both traditions. In this limited sense, the experience beginning with fear in John’s vision may be associated with the transformation of consciousness arising through the dissolution of ignorance in Buddhist teaching.
8. The Nameless Source and Cosmic Unity in Taoism
In Taoist thought, the Tao is the fundamental principle associated with the emergence of all forms, yet it cannot be completely defined through any particular form. The distinction between what can be named and what cannot be named in the Tao Te Ching makes it possible to contemplate the difference between the Source of Existence and its visible manifestations.
The Indivisible Point in John’s vision may be compared with the conception of undifferentiated unity in Taoist metaphysics. The Point represents ontological wholeness preceding the emergence of multiplicity, while the Tao signifies the Way from which forms arise without being reducible to any particular form.
The concept of the Name acquires special importance in this comparison. In the text, the True Name expresses the Essence of Being beyond the ordinary word. In Taoism, naming enables limitless Reality to be expressed through particular conceptual distinctions. Thus, the two traditions converge upon the understanding that language both reveals and limits Truth.
9. The Divine Name and Truth in Sikhism
In the Sikh tradition, Nām is one of the fundamental concepts associated with the remembrance and actualization of Divine Truth. The Name is not merely a word pronounced aloud; it is connected with a spiritual orientation that transforms the entirety of human existence.
The bestowal of the New Name in John’s vision describes the reestablishment of the human being’s relationship with Truth. When compared with the Sikh practice of Nām Simran, the common element is the establishment of the Divine Name as a continuous presence within human consciousness.
Nevertheless, the exclusive knowledge of the New Name by its bearer and the continuous remembrance of the Divine Name in Sikhism are not identical practices. The former emphasizes the uniqueness of spiritual identity, while the latter emphasizes uninterrupted orientation toward Divine Truth.
10. The Secret Name and Divine Identity in Ancient Egypt
In ancient Egyptian religion, the Name is closely connected with the identity and continuity of existence. The concept of Ren constitutes one of the essential elements defining a person’s being. In certain mythological narratives, knowledge of a Name is associated with access to the hidden nature of the being who possesses it.
When the New Name inscribed upon the White Stone in John’s vision is compared with this tradition, it becomes apparent that the Name is not merely an instrument of identification. It becomes a symbol bearing the spiritual identity of existence.
The New Name in the text describes a new state of being attained by humanity in the presence of Truth. The ancient Egyptian conception of the Secret Name emphasizes the relationship between Divine Power, Knowledge, and Identity. Both traditions converge upon the ontological importance of the Name while preserving their respective mythological structures.
11. Zulfiqar and the Interreligious Meaning of the Two-Edged Sword
In John’s vision, the two-edged sword emerging from the mouth represents the power of the Divine Word to distinguish Truth. In the text of M. H. Uluğ Kızılkeçili, this symbol is associated with Zulfiqar, thereby establishing a new field of interpretation between Islamic and Christian symbolism. The bifurcated tip appearing in traditional representations of Zulfiqar becomes, within the metaphysical language of the poem, a symbol of twofold manifestation arising from a single Source.
In Hinduism, Vishnu’s sword Nandaka is associated with Wisdom and the overcoming of ignorance. In Buddhist iconography, Manjushri’s Sword of Wisdom represents the discernment that cuts through ignorance. In the Sikh tradition, the Khanda is connected with Truth, Justice, and Spiritual Responsibility. The shared significance of these symbols lies in the understanding that sharpness may express not only physical force but also the distinction between Truth and Illusion.
Esoterically, the two points of Zulfiqar do not signify the existence of two separate Truths, but rather the discriminating operation of One Truth within differentiated planes of existence. The emergence of the Sword from the mouth indicates that Power is inseparably connected with the Divine Word. Thus, the Conquest of Truth acquires the meaning of transcending false distinctions within consciousness rather than exercising physical domination.
12. Logos, the Divine Word, and Shabda
In Christianity, the Logos is a fundamental concept associated with Creation and Divine Truth, particularly in the opening of the Gospel of John. In Islam, Kalām is understood within the context of Divine Address and Revelation. In Hindu thought, Shabda is an important concept explaining the relationship between Sound, Speech, and Knowledge. In Sikhism, Shabad expresses the transformative influence of the Sacred Word upon human consciousness.
These traditions demonstrate that the Word is not merely an instrument for transmitting information between human beings. It is associated with the interpretation of existence, the revelation of Truth, and the transformation of consciousness. From this perspective, the Sword in John’s vision becomes the sharpened symbol of the Divine Word.
The concept of Shın in the text may also be understood within this symbolic framework. The relationship between the Word, the Name, and the Ray of Light makes it possible to comprehend Creative Truth both as Meaning and as Manifestation. The Name represents the essential nature of Being, the Word represents the communication of that nature, and the Ray symbolizes its emanation.
13. Divine Fire and the Unity of Purification Across Religions
Fire is a symbol of purification and transformation in numerous religious traditions. In the Vedic tradition, Agni is the Sacred Fire Deity who establishes the relationship between sacrificial ritual and the Divine Realm. In Zoroastrianism, Fire is the visible sign of Truth and Purity. In Christian mysticism, Fire may be associated with Divine Love and the experience of purification. In Islamic Sufism, the Fire of Love is a powerful metaphor describing the transformation of the self.
The Fire in John’s vision constitutes a symbolic center where these fields of meaning intersect. The eyes of the Man of Fire represent the perception of Truth; His bronze-like feet signify the stability attained through purification; and His sunlike face represents the integral manifestation of Enlightenment.
The esoteric function of Fire is not to annihilate Being entirely. Rather, it dissolves the elements concealing Truth and allows the essential nature of Being to become manifest. Fire is therefore understood as the threshold of transformation between dissolution and rebirth.
14. The Seven Stars and the Seven Cosmic Degrees
The number seven occupies an important position in Mesopotamian planetary symbolism, Jewish and Christian apocalyptic narratives, the Islamic conception of the Seven Heavens, and various sevenfold structures found in Indian traditions. Nevertheless, the number seven cannot be said to represent an identical cosmological system in every tradition.
The Book of Revelation explicitly associates the Seven Stars with the angels of the Seven Churches. In the poem, however, these Stars are integrated with the Seven Armies of Fire and incorporated into a broader cosmic symbolism.
In esoteric interpretation, the Seven Stars may represent complementary degrees of existence. These degrees are not separate creative centers, but different realms of manifestation belonging to the same Truth. The holding of the Stars within a single hand signifies that multiplicity exists within a common Order.
15. The First and the Last: Alpha, Omega, and Eternal Truth
In the Christian apocalyptic tradition, Alpha and Omega express the comprehension of Beginning and End within a transcendent unity. In Islam, the Divine Names al-Awwal and al-Akhir express the transcendence of Allah in relation to Time and Creation. In Hindu Vedanta, Brahman is understood as the Ultimate Reality upon which changing forms of existence depend.
The esoteric relationship that may be established among these concepts rests upon the understanding that Beginning and End are not merely chronological events. Beginning represents the Source of Existence, while End represents its ultimate meaning.
Thus, the declaration of the First and the Last in John’s vision directs human consciousness, which moves within Time, toward contemplation of the Source of Time itself. Beginninglessness is not restricted to an infinite past, nor is Everlastingness restricted to an infinite future. Both constitute different conceptual dimensions of the continuity of Being beyond Time.
16. The Divine Door and the Threshold of Salvation
In Christianity, the symbol of the Door is associated with Salvation and Divine Nearness through the Messiah. In Islamic Sufism, passage between spiritual stations may be explained through the metaphors of Doors and Thresholds. In Hindu traditions, Moksha signifies liberation from the bonds restricting existence, while in Buddhism, Nirvana signifies the cessation of ignorance and attachment.
In John’s vision, the impossibility of closing the Door once it has been opened expresses the definitiveness of Divine Authority. Esoterically, the Door represents the entrance of consciousness into a realm of Truth previously beyond its comprehension.
The opening of the Door may signify the complete transformation of human existence. Once certain Truths have been realized, a return to the former state of consciousness in precisely the same manner becomes impossible. Thus, the Door becomes a symbol of ontological transformation extending beyond the mere acquisition of Knowledge.
17. The Symbolic Relationship Between Amin, Amen, and Aum
Amin and Amen are historically and linguistically related expressions of religious affirmation. Aum, or Om, in Hindu traditions possesses a different linguistic and religious history. Their phonetic similarities do not establish a common origin.
Nevertheless, at the level of comparative esoteric interpretation, all three make it possible to investigate the significance of Sacred Utterance within human consciousness. Amin represents the affirmation of prayer and supplication, while Om represents the cosmic significance of Sacred Sound, particularly within Hindu philosophical and ritual traditions.
The poem’s interpretation of Amin as the conscious acceptance of Truth introduces an ethical dimension into this symbolism. The human being completes spiritual affirmation not merely by repeating a word, but by bringing his own will into harmony with the Truth he has accepted.
18. The Fatiha and the Universal Opening
The Fatiha contains fundamental expressions of Divine Mercy, servitude, supplication for assistance, and orientation toward the Straight Path in Islam. The association with Conquest established in the text connects the meaning of the Fatiha as an Opening with the inner transformation of the human being.
Spiritual Awakening in Christian mysticism, Liberation through Knowledge in Hindu traditions, and the development of Awareness in Buddhist thought belong to different teachings, yet they may be compared through the idea of an Opening within consciousness.
The esoteric meaning of this Opening is the movement of the human being beyond defining himself solely through external circumstances. The Conqueror, or Fatih, thus becomes a symbol of the human being who discovers the meaning of his own existence and transcends the limitations of the self.
19. The Tree of Life and the World Tree
The Tree of Life is an important symbol in the Books of Genesis and Revelation. In Jewish mysticism, the Tree of Life is associated with the order of the Sefirot. In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil is the World Tree connecting different cosmic realms. In Hindu tradition, the Ashvattha Tree becomes the subject of metaphysical interpretations concerning the roots and manifestations of existence.
The common symbolic characteristic of these Trees is their establishment of continuity among different planes of Being. The roots are associated with the Source, the trunk with Unity, and the branches with Multiplicity.
In the poem based upon John’s vision, the identification of the Tree of Everlasting Life with the Man of Fire constitutes a personified expression of Cosmic Continuity. In this interpretation, the Tree of Life becomes a symbol not merely of Immortality, but of the uninterrupted relationship between Being and its Source.
20. The New Name and Spiritual Rebirth
In the Christian apocalyptic tradition, the New Name is associated with Victory, Faithfulness, and Divine Recognition. In Jewish mysticism, the spiritual significance of Names is connected with Divine Manifestation and the conception of Sacred Language. In ancient Egypt, the Name constitutes one of the fundamental elements determining the continuity of Being. In Sikhism, Nām is associated with the remembrance of Divine Truth.
Within these traditions, the Name may possess a significance extending beyond an ordinary mark of identification. It is connected with the identity, responsibilities, and spiritual orientation of Being.
The New Name in the text is the consequence of the human being’s recognition of his own Truth. It is not an arbitrary title bestowed from outside, but the revelation of consciousness concerning the Essence of Being. Thus, the transformation of the Name becomes the symbolic equivalent of Spiritual Rebirth.
PART THREE — ADAM, SOLOMON, THE COSMIC NAME, AND THE DIVINE COVENANT
21. Adam and the Archetype of the First Human
Adam is associated with the Creation of humanity and Divine Responsibility within the Abrahamic traditions. Adam Kadmon in Jewish mysticism represents the conception of the Cosmic Human, while Purusha in Hinduism provides a symbolic explanation of the universe through the human form.
The fundamental similarity among these concepts lies in the understanding that the human form is not regarded merely as a biological organism. The human being constitutes a symbolic center capable of comprehending the meaning of existence.
The association of the Name Adam with the LORD of all Worlds in the poem is an esoteric interpretation distinctive to the text. Within this context, Adam represents the conscious Being who seeks the Knowledge of the Divine Names and bears responsibility for comprehending the spiritual meaning of Creation.
22. The Trial of the Angels Through the Names
The Qur’anic account of the teaching of the Names emphasizes humanity’s capacity for Knowledge and Responsibility. In Jewish mysticism, Knowledge of the Sacred Names may be associated with the comprehension of the Divine Order. In Hindu traditions, Mantra and Sacred Sound carry the ritual and spiritual dimensions of Knowledge.
Esoterically, knowing the Names does not merely signify recognizing the external characteristics of things. It means comprehending the place and meaning of every Being within the Order of Creation.
In the poem, the inability of the Angels to know the Names is interpreted through the distinction between Essence and Form. A Being that has not yet assumed visible form cannot be recognized through ordinary knowledge of objects. Therefore, Knowledge of the Names is understood as a form of spiritual perception more comprehensive than physical observation.
23. Iblis and the Consciousness of Cosmic Separation
In the Islamic narrative, Iblis is associated with disobedience to the Divine Command and with Pride. In Christian traditions, the figure of Satan is understood in relation to Evil and opposition to the Divine Order. In the Zoroastrian tradition, Angra Mainyu constitutes an important element of the doctrine of Cosmic Opposition.
These figures are not historically or theologically identical. Nevertheless, comparative esoteric interpretation may examine them through such themes as Separation, Pride, and the Rejection of Truth.
In the poem, the inability of Iblis to comprehend the Name symbolizes the self that cannot recognize the Essence of Being. Thus, Iblis becomes not merely an external figure of opposition, but also a sign of spiritual alienation arising when consciousness absolutizes its own limited standards.
24. Solomon and Cosmic Sovereignty
Solomon is an important figure associated with Wisdom and Sovereignty in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In the Islamic narrative, his authority over the Wind and the Jinn is explained as a special Power granted through Divine Permission.
In esoteric interpretation, Solomon represents the consciousness capable of governing different forces of existence within a unified Order. This governance is not merely external domination. It is the integration of Thought, Will, Desire, and Spiritual Orientation within the human being around Wisdom.
The use of Solomon as the New Name in the poem unites this symbolism of Sovereignty with the spiritual maturation of the human being. Solomon thereby becomes the Name of the Cosmic Human who establishes Order within his own existence.
25. The Central Pillar and the Cosmic Axis
The Central Pillar may be compared with the symbolism of the World Axis found in various religious traditions. Mount Meru in Hindu and Buddhist cosmologies, Yggdrasil in Norse mythology, and the World Tree in various shamanic traditions express the conception of a Center connecting different planes of existence.
The Central Pillar of the Tent of Haqq (Lord) in the poem represents the application of this symbolism of the Cosmic Center to human consciousness. The Central Pillar enables differentiated realms of existence to remain united within an integral whole without dispersing.
For the human being to become the Central Pillar does not mean becoming the physical center of the universe. Rather, it means accepting Truth as the central principle of one’s own existence and ordering all inclinations in accordance with that principle.
26. The Covenant and the Sacred Bond
The Covenant is one of the fundamental concepts defining the sacred relationship between God and Israel in Judaism. In Christianity, the New Covenant is associated with the doctrine of Salvation revealed through the Messiah. In Islam, the concepts of Mithaq and Ahd express humanity’s Divine Responsibility.
In the poem, preserving the Oath signifies the human being’s continued faithfulness to the Source of his own existence. This Faithfulness is not merely the remembrance of a promise made in the past. It is the integration of Consciousness, Will, and Conduct within the same spiritual orientation.
Thus, the Covenant becomes an ontological bond that must be preserved throughout Time.
27. Prostration and the Transformation of the Self Before the Sacred
In Islam, Prostration is one of the fundamental forms of worship expressing servitude to Allah. In Christianity, falling to the ground may express Reverence and Surrender before the Sacred. In Hindu traditions, Pranam is the bodily expression of Respect and Spiritual Devotion. In Buddhist traditions, Prostration is associated with reverence toward the Buddha, the Teaching, and the Spiritual Community.
These practices possess different theological meanings. Their shared symbolic dimension lies in the human being’s movement away from regarding the self as the absolute center of existence.
John’s falling to the ground demonstrates, in this sense, the transformative effect of Sacred Experience upon the self. Prostration signifies the recognition of human limitation before the Source of Existence.
28. Friday and the Sacred Gathering
In Islam, Friday is associated with Congregational Worship and the consciousness of Spiritual Community. In Judaism, the Sabbath occupies a central position within the order of Sacred Time and Rest. In Christianity, Sunday Worship is connected with the Resurrection and the collective remembrance of the religious community.
These conceptions of Sacred Time rest upon different religious foundations. At the esoteric level, their common concern is the human being’s departure from the ordinary flow of daily Time in order to turn toward the spiritual meaning of existence.
In the poem, the association of Friday with Prostration before Adam and the Breathing of the Spirit transforms the Sacred Gathering into an event of Cosmic Consciousness. What gathers here is not merely human beings; the dispersed spiritual orientations of the individual also converge upon a common Center.
29. The White Stone and the Preservation of Sacred Identity
The White Stone is mentioned together with the New Name in the Book of Revelation. In ancient religious traditions, Stone may be associated with Permanence, Testimony, and Sacred Space. Standing Stones in the Jewish tradition serve as signs preserving the remembrance of particular events. In Hindu traditions, the symbolism of Sacred Stones and the Lingam establishes relationships with Divine Presence within different contexts.
In the poem, the identification of the White Stone with Îsâ unites the permanence of Stone with the continuity of Spiritual Identity. The Name inscribed upon the Stone is not a transient thought, but a Truth engraved into existence itself.
Whiteness represents Purity, Stone represents Endurance, and Inscription represents Conscious Recognition.
30. The Throne and Divine Sovereignty
The Throne is associated with Divine Glory in the Jewish prophetic tradition, Celestial Sovereignty in Christian apocalyptic narratives, and Divine Dominion through the concept of the Arsh in Islamic texts.
In the poem, being seated upon the Throne is connected with the completion of Spiritual Conquest. Esoterically, the Throne represents the organization of dispersed forces around a single Center.
The consciousness seated upon the Throne does not govern its own existence arbitrarily. Rather, it recognizes the measure of Truth and brings Thought and Will into harmony with that measure. Thus, Sovereignty is transformed from external Power into inner Perfection.
PART FOUR — ZÜHRE, JOSEPH, APHRODITE, AND THE CREATION OF DIVINE BEAUTY
31. The Universal Symbolism of the Morning Star
The Morning Star represents the approaching end of darkness and the arrival of a new day in numerous cultures. In the Christian apocalyptic tradition, the Morning Star is associated with the Messiah and the Promise of Victory. In Mesopotamia, Venus occupies an important place within the symbolism of Inanna and Ishtar.
In the poem, the Morning Star symbolizes the New Identity attained following Spiritual Conquest. When the human being recognizes his own Essence, he moves beyond the darkness of his former state of consciousness.
The appearance of the Morning Star before sunrise is particularly significant. This Star does not represent the fullness of completed Illumination, but rather announces the approaching dawn of Enlightenment.
32. Zühre and the Esoteric Meaning of Venus
Zühre is the name of the planet Venus in Islamic astronomy and cultural history. Its brilliance and prominent appearance in the heavens have associated it with symbols of Beauty, Love, and Birth throughout different civilizations.
In the poem, Zühre is not merely an astronomical celestial body. It is the symbolic Name of the transition of human consciousness from Darkness into Light.
The appearance of Venus as both the Morning Star and the Evening Star invites esoteric contemplation of the relationship between Beginning and Completion. The same celestial body assumes different appearances at different times. Thus, the continuity of Essence and the variability of Manifestation become united within a single symbol.
33. Aphrodite and Divine Beauty
Aphrodite is associated with Beauty and Love in ancient Greek mythology. In the Roman tradition, her counterpart is Venus. This symbolism makes it possible to investigate broader meanings of Beauty that are not restricted to physical appearance.
The association of Aphrodite with Zühre and Joseph in the poem brings together manifestations of Beauty from different religious and mythological traditions within a shared field of esoteric meaning.
In this interpretation, Beauty is the manifestation of Being in accordance with its own Truth. Harmony between the Inner and the Outer becomes the fundamental characteristic of the Manifestation of Divine Beauty, or Jamālī Tajallī.
34. Joseph and the Ethical Perfection of Beauty
Joseph occupies a prominent position in Islamic and Judeo-Christian narratives through his Beauty, his Trials, and his Wisdom. In his story, outward Beauty is understood together with Moral Responsibility and Divine Providence.
The symbol of Aphrodite is particularly suited to explaining the aesthetic dimension of Beauty, while the symbol of Joseph illuminates the relationship between Beauty and Moral Perfection.
The integration of Joseph with the Morning Star in the poem associates Beauty with the Enlightenment of consciousness. True Jamāl is not merely the attractiveness of appearance, but the establishment of an ethical Order within human existence through Truth.
35. The White Garment and the Body of Light
The White Garment is associated with Purification and Victory in the Christian apocalyptic tradition. In Islamic Sufism, Nūr, or Divine Light, is one of the important symbols of Spiritual Enlightenment. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, representations of luminous bodies may express Spiritual Transformation within different teachings.
In the poem, the transparency of the White Garment signifies that visible Form does not conceal its Essence. This transparency is understood not as a verified phenomenon involving physical bodily transformation, but as a symbol of Spiritual Openness.
The Body of Light thus becomes a metaphysical concept expressing the manifestation of Truth within visible Form without concealment by veils.
36. The Golden Girdle and Cosmic Wholeness
Gold has been associated with Divine Permanence in ancient Egypt, Purified Matter in alchemical traditions, and Sacred Glory in Christian iconography.
In the poem, the Golden Girdle unites the different symbolic forces within the body of the Man of Fire around a common Center. The binding function of the Girdle may be associated with the preservation of the Covenant.
To wear the Golden Girdle signifies, in the esoteric sense, the attainment of Wholeness within one's own existence. When Thought, Will, and Spiritual Orientation are bound to the same Truth, fragmentation gives way to Continuity.
37. The Shadow and Original Being
In Platonic thought, the relationship between the visible world and a more fundamental Reality may be explained through the metaphors of Shadow and Appearance. In the Hindu tradition of Advaita Vedanta, the distinction between changing appearances and Ultimate Reality constitutes an important metaphysical question. In Islamic Sufism, the Shadow may be employed as a symbol expressing the dependence of Being upon Divine Truth.
In the poem, the understanding that what departs is the Shadow reveals the distinction between the temporary identity of the human being and the deeper meaning of existence.
The Shadow is not entirely unreal; nevertheless, it is not an independent Source in itself. Therefore, transcending the Shadow does not mean denying visible life, but understanding it within a more comprehensive Truth.
38. Death and Spiritual Resurrection
In Christianity, Resurrection constitutes one of the central elements of the doctrine of Salvation. In Islamic Sufism, Fanā and Baqā are understood in relation to the transformation of the self and orientation toward Allah. In Hindu traditions, Moksha is associated with liberation from the cycle of Birth and Death. In Buddhism, Nirvana signifies the cessation of Ignorance and Attachment.
These teachings are not identical. Nevertheless, the transcendence of the ordinary mode of human existence constitutes a shared subject of comparative esoteric inquiry.
From this perspective, John's falling to the ground as though dead may be interpreted as the dissolution of his former state of consciousness. The Divine Touch that follows represents the birth of a new Spiritual Perception.
39. Divine Nearness and the Consciousness of Unity
In Islamic Sufism, Qurb signifies Spiritual Nearness to Allah. In Christian mysticism, the experience of Union with God is understood through different theological explanations. In Hindu Advaita Vedanta, the realization of Ultimate Reality is explained through the relationship between the Self and Brahman.
The meaning of Nearness differs among these teachings. The shared element of esoteric comparison is the questioning of the human tendency to regard oneself as absolutely separate and independent.
In the poem, never departing from the Divine Presence represents a continuity of consciousness in which Truth is no longer forgotten. This Continuity constitutes a spiritual bond more comprehensive than spatial proximity.
